The locals call the place “Kotleneto”,

because it’s shaped like a cauldron and the
monks of
the nearby Cherepish Monastery
have named it “Bethesda”,
after the eponymous bath in Jerusalem. 
According to the Bible, in it Jesus Christ
has performed one of his miracles, as he has
miraculously healed
a disabled person. The name
“Bethesda” in Hebrew has two meanings:
House of Mercy and Place of outflow
